Set your priorities right. First, understand making a pure sequence is a top priority.
Patience – Patience is the key to success. Do not rush through the game. Though it is important to play aggressively, it is also important to exercise restraint and play the waiting game. Rummy is all about staying calm and focused
Concentration – This is the key to success. A slight distraction could play spoilsport and pull you down. Curb your time on additional features like chat and concentrate on the game. Avoid outside distractions like music, television while playing rummy.
Always keep a watch on the other player’s card. Keep track of cards they pick and discard so that you will get a good idea of the sets/sequences they are trying to meld. Also, this way allows you to take a decision to retain or discard a particular card.
Try to get rid of cards with higher points. This is to ensure you lose with minimal points should the opponents declare before you.
Remember to play smartly. Do not get fixated on making a particular suit. For eg, 5 of any suit can be put together with 3 & 4 of the same suit and can also be melded with of the same suit. Do not ignore any of those till you make a perfect run.
Jokers are trump cards while playing rummy. Joker is an easy way to meld your cards into sets and sequences. It is considered as a jackpot in the game of Rummy. If you have a pure sequence and a joker too, you should try to use that joker to make the second sequence by using that Joker as the idea is to meld all the hand cards into sets/sequence quickly
Do not keep waiting for one card endlessly. Re-evaluate your strategies.
Do not retain cards for too long. Discard the cards when you find them of no use.
Arrange the cards in alternate colors as it will avoid confusion while discarding the cards.
Most importantly, do not lose heart. You may lose a few games in the beginning. It’s in your hands to make sure those losses aren’t curtailing you in any way or any form. Play the game cleanly and follow these strategies. Your glorious days are not too far ahead.

6 common mistakes made by Rummy Players

It is human nature to be prone to mistakes. Rummy is no exception to this. A few mistakes and strategy loopholes in the game will bring your party crashing down. We have observed a set of common mistakes rummy players make that we have listed here for your reference. Negligence of Discard Pile

This is the biggest mistake players keep making continuously, that causes them to lose. Before they start building castles in the air about victory, players must keep a watch on the discard pile. If your opponent is picking up cards you discard, then you must be double cautious not to drop any further cards which he might pick up. For this, you must be insightful about the cards your opponents are holding.

Overplaying the game

We see some of the players hopelessly slogging it out after being dealt an undesirable combination of cards. Rather than dropping the game early, we see those players persisting and waiting for the opponents to drop their dream card. Winners of Festive Freeroll Tournaments

Our Festive Freeroll tournament which was conducted this Diwali has been a roaring success. It’s another feather in our cap that we are wearing in pride – courtesy of our stunning players. We already knew the festive freeroll tourney was destined to be a success, given our players’ love towards the game and enthusiasm they have been showing all along. But we must admit the turnout for these tournaments had been exceeded our expectations. We could see players from all walks of life rushing in and actively competing. What we like most about our players is their willingness to accept any challenge. It reminds us of the quote “It is not if you win or lose; it’s how you play the game”. Kudos to all the players who took the plunge and played the game in good spirits.

The tournaments were structured in a way so that the players could have a smooth sailing. But, it still doesn’t discredit the monumental efforts by the players who were able to cruise through, overcoming all the challenges they encountered. The winners had to slog it out with some of the best players across this country to get to that position. So, on this special occasion we must applaud their relentless efforts and enthusiasm. Congratulations rummy champions, you made us really proud.
