Dealing

The process of dealing cards to all players involved in the game is known as Dealing. In Indian Rummy game, 13 cards are dealt to each player on the table. 

Deck of Cards

Every 13 card Rummy game is played with a a minimum of 2 deck of cards. Deck of cards mean 52 cards in addition to one Printed Joker in four suits – Spade (♠), Clubs (♣), Hearts (♥), Diamond(♦). Each suit has 13 cards as given – A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K.

Joker card acts a substitute for the missing card in a sequence or a set. 

What is Melding?

Melding is the process of matching similar cards, usually 3 or more, that allows the players to combine thir hands. Melds are in the order of successive cards belonging to the same suit known as runs (2♠3♠ 84) or sets of cards of identical rank (5♠5♣5♥).

What is Lay off in rummy?

A player can”lay off” some cards in an existing combinatioin. It  means that players have an option to add to a sequence or a set that is on the table or with any other players. For example, if there’s ♣2♣3♣4 on the table & you have ♣5, you can lay off on the meld. 

How to discard?

After carefully constructing the sequence, the player must discard one card face up in the open deck. If your opponent has discarded a joker card, then you cannot pick up it.

What is show?

After building sets and sequences the player needs to submit the cards for validation. The action of submitting the cards for validation is called as Show
